How it works

Your body is the controller

Here's exactly how an AI camera reads your movement and turns it into the inputs your games already understand — mouse movement, button presses, joystick axes — with nothing worn on your body.

Infographic: turn your movements into game controls — Plaik maps your body movement to key presses, mouse movement, gamepad button presses and joystick movement

1. AI pose estimation — seeing you

Plaik's camera streams to an on-device AI model that locates 33 skeletal landmarks — head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, feet — dozens of times per second. This is the same computer-vision family of technology used in modern pose estimation research, running entirely on the device: your video never leaves the room.

Because tracking is vision-based, there is nothing to charge, strap on or calibrate per limb. Wearable trackers (SlimeVR, mocopi, HaritoraX) infer your pose from motion sensors strapped to your body; Plaik sees the pose directly.

2. Motion-to-input mapping — translating you

Movement → mouse

Hand position and velocity map to mouse cursor movement. Move your hand right to look right in an FPS; a quick flick becomes a fast flick.

Gestures → button presses

A defined gesture — punch, clench, stomp, raise-hand — triggers a keyboard key or gamepad button. You choose which gesture fires which button.

Body lean → joystick axes

Lean, tilt and reach map to analog stick axes. Lean forward to accelerate in a racing game; shift your weight to dodge.

Because the output is standard HID input (mouse, keyboard, gamepad), Plaik works with the games you already own — no developer integration, no special versions.

3. Setup — plug and play

Connect

One USB-C cable to your PC. No base stations, no external sensors, no room calibration rig.

Calibrate in seconds

Stand in view, hit calibrate. Plaik learns your play space and sets safe tracking zones.

Play

Pick a profile for your game genre, launch the game, move. Switch games by switching profiles.
